The Department of Medicine among the Departments at Namangan State Medical University.
Faculty of Medicine was opened during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Namangan region on February 18-19, 2021 and in accordance with the organizational structure approved by the Minutes of the Extraordinary Session of the Regional Council of People’s Deputies No. 10, the Resolution of the Meeting No. 6 of the Council of Namangan State University dated February 27, 2021, and agreed with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education on April 26, 2021. The faculty has bachelor’s degree programs 60910200-Medical work and 60910300-Pediatrics and 60910700-Pharmacy (by type).
The Faculty of Medicine provides a comprehensive range of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of the healthcare sector. The flagship General Medicine (MD) program is a six-year course that integrates foundational medical sciences with extensive clinical training, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to diagnose and treat patients effectively. Specialized programs in Pediatrics, Public Health, and Nursing further expand opportunities for students to focus on critical areas of healthcare, from child wellness to community disease prevention.
Each program emphasizes hands-on learning, with students gaining practical experience through rotations at affiliated hospitals, clinics, and research centers. The faculty’s simulation labs, equipped with advanced medical mannequins and virtual reality tools, allow students to hone their skills in a controlled, risk-free environment before entering real-world clinical settings.
Research is a cornerstone of the Faculty of Medicine, with dedicated centers focusing on pressing health issues such as infectious diseases, cardiology, neurology, and biotechnology. Collaborative projects with international institutions in Russia, South Korea, and Europe provide students and faculty with opportunities to engage in groundbreaking studies, contributing to global medical advancements. The faculty also prioritizes telemedicine and digital health innovations, ensuring that graduates are prepared to leverage technology in improving patient care. Through partnerships with leading hospitals and healthcare organizations, students participate in internships and residency programs that enhance their professional readiness and expand their career prospects.
Graduates of Namangan State University’s Faculty of Medicine are highly regarded in Uzbekistan and beyond, securing positions in hospitals, research institutions, public health agencies, and private healthcare organizations. Many alumni pursue further specialization through residency programs or advanced degrees, both domestically and internationally. The faculty has formed training and practice centers, and conditions have been created for students of all specialties of the faculty. The training and practice bases of the faculty students are mainly the Namangan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Care Scientific Center under the Namangan Regional Health Department, the Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center, the Namangan Regional Children’s Multidisciplinary Medical Center, the Namangan City Children’s Hospital, the Hospital No. 1 under the Namangan City Medical Association, the Regional Endocrinology Center, the Regional Blood Transfusion Center, and in addition, private clinics, namely, the Nevromed private hospital, “Oydin Shifo”, “Anamed”, “Doctor A” and other institutions (there are contracts with them).
